ART DECO

The epicentre of high fashion during the Art Deco period was Paris, where the demand for quality illustrations of leading fashion designers led to the creation of a number of highly influential fashion periodicals. The most important of these was "La Gazette du bon ton", ran from 1912-25.

Founded by Lucien Vogel, the magazine covered the latest developments in fashion, lifestyle, and beauty. It employed many of the most famous Art Deco artists and illustrators of the day, including Georges Barbier, Erté, Paul Iribe, Pierre Brissaud, and Georges Lepape.
